The T25B Toolbox provides some really great IT utilities

The T25B Toolbox brings you IT Tools, a really useful Swiss Army knife of dozens of handy online utilities for all kinds of things that Web developers and webmasters frequently have to do: encode things in CSS; decode things; generate and convert codes; and lots more.

IT Tools is a Javascript-based suite developed by Corentin Thomasset and published under an Open-Source-type licence (MIT).

Hosting public-facing tools has its risks

Today, Hetzner banned this server’s IP address temporarily because they got two abuse reports. After updating Privatebin on the T25B Pastebin to v2.0.3, I neglected to disable the ‘file attachment’ feature, which I’d enabled for testing. Within 48 hours, abusers were there posting offensive images.

Anyway, for that reason, the pastebin is configured not to allow file attachments. It’s a pity, it is a really useful feature, but you just can’t leave it public-facing without any access restriction.

So, the T25B Pastebin is still up and running, but only for text and code pastes.

News updates about T25B services

It’s great to publish websites and stuff intended for you, someone from the wide world out there, but what happens when the wonderful things go down, or get updated with great new features. How is anyone ever going to know?

From today on, the front page of the T25B blog is going to be the blog posts page. Plus I have some things automated so that services can publish directly to the blog themselves. That could well be, for instance, the Kuma Uptime instance that will soon be on uptime.t25b.com to monitor the status of the databases and Web front ends of the platforms and utilities to be found in the web ring that T25B is part of.

And who knows what else I might find to write about here, maybe.

So you can expect some human writing and some automated error and status reports posted here.

Oh, and Happy New Year to those who celebrated it around this time.
